Can an outdoor sauna use a normal plug?
No, and the arithmetic shows why. A 13 A socket delivers about 3 kW, and a sauna heater that could live within that would struggle to heat a garden building in a British winter. The PC70 draws up to 6.8 kW, more than double what any domestic socket can supply, so there is no plug-in version of this heater and no adapter that makes one. It connects permanently to its own circuit, run from your consumer unit, with its own protection. If a seller offers you a full-size outdoor sauna that "just plugs in", ask which heater is inside and check its nameplate before believing it.
Start with the exact heater, not a generic table
Sauna electrics go wrong when people plan from a forum table written about a different heater in a different country. You will notice what is missing from that table: cable sizes, left out deliberately. Cable selection depends on the route length, how the cable is run, what it passes through and what else shares the way, and those facts live at your property. Single-phase and three-phase: what the terms mean

Earlier than feels natural. The sensible sequence:
- Before you order the sauna, book the site walk. The quote confirms the supply can take the heater and prices the whole electrical side, and if the answer is awkward, better to hear it before money moves.
- Before groundwork, agree the cable route. An underground run wants its trench dug while the garden is already disrupted for the base, to a depth and specification the electrician sets.
- After assembly comes final connection, testing and certification, once the cabin stands and the heater is in place. You should finish with a certificate for the new circuit; keep it with the house paperwork, since a future buyer's solicitor may ask for it.

Does an outdoor sauna need three-phase power?
For most homes, no. The PC70 runs on an ordinary 230 V single-phase supply with 1 × 35 A protection, which is what most UK homes have. Three-phase is an alternative connection, useful where it already exists, and never a reason on its own to upgrade a supply.
Can I do any of the electrical work myself?
